They went in for dental work, but Howard Co. police say they left not knowing they had been violated

Columbia, MDLocal News

In a disturbing case from Howard County, Maryland, Delano Draine, a 43-year-old dental office employee, has been indicted on 68 charges including peeping Tom offenses and computer crimes. The investigation began in December 2023 when Draine was accused of attempting to record a teenage girl in a dressing room at The Mall in Columbia. Following this, law enforcement obtained a search warrant that revealed Draine's disturbing pattern of behavior—accessing the cell phones of dental patients and coworkers. Police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn stated that Draine observed patients entering their phone passcodes and subsequently accessed their personal media, including photos and videos of a private nature. In total, he has been identified as violating the privacy of 37 women, while at least 11 additional victims remain unidentified.

Fortunately, authorities have confirmed that none of the footage appears to have been shared publicly or posted online. Draine is currently being held without bond after his arrest in May. This case has raised significant concerns about privacy and security in seemingly safe environments like medical offices.
