This free business support and mentoring program is backed by funding from Arts Council England, Essex County Council, and Tendring District Council. As part of its role, Chelmsford Theatre will host various networking, pitching, and showcase events, along with specialized workshops and masterclasses. The Mercury Creatives program returns after a successful pilot phase from 2020 to 2023, which helped create 124 new jobs and attracted over £2. 2 million in new investment to the region.

Lee Henderson, the Theatre Director, emphasized the importance of this partnership in nurturing local creative talent. The initiative aims to assist individuals who face challenges in skills development or career advancement. With applications now open for the first cohort of mentees, the program represents a significant opportunity for aspiring creatives.
