Community Garden - City of Bonney Lake

Bonney Lake, WALocal News

The City of Bonney Lake Community Garden (BLCG), a vibrant local initiative established in 2010, will open its application process for garden plots on January 1, 2025. Located at 18421 89th ST E, adjacent to the Lions 4 Kids clothing bank, the garden serves as a hub for community engagement and sustainable practices. Gardeners must provide their own topsoil, seeds, and tools, while irrigation is managed by the city, ensuring ease of maintenance. Participants are encouraged to donate surplus produce to both the Bonney Lake Food Bank and the Bonney Lake Senior Center, enhancing food security in the area. Interested candidates can find the Garden Plot Request form and detailed rules on the city's official website.

The garden plot fees, which have been in effect since January 1, 2018, are $25 for a single plot and $50 for a double plot, with discounts available for seniors, disabled individuals, and EBT cardholders as outlined in BLMC 3. 90. This initiative not only promotes gardening but also fosters a sense of community and support among residents. For inquiries, community members can contact the Membership Coordinator or the City’s Park Maintenance Lead.
