Allan Yorke Park New Playground Information

Bonney Lake, WALocal News

The City of Bonney Lake is progressing with the installation of a new inclusive playground at Allan Yorke Park, located near ballfield 5, as part of the Ballfield 5 Master Plan. Initially funded by a 2018 grant for playground equipment, the project faced delays due to rising costs. To address this, city staff sought additional financial support and successfully obtained funding from the State legislature, aided by local representatives, Rep. Stokesbary and Rep. Robertson.

The state funds will be included in the budget cycle beginning July 1, 2024, and city officials are currently working on the project funding agreement. A City Council vote on the funding agreement and contract with the playground installer is expected this summer, ensuring smooth project progression. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through updates on the city’s website and weekly e-newsletter. This new playground aims to enhance community recreation and inclusivity for all residents.
