Call for Artists Site Structures City of Bend Public Works Campus

Bend, ORLocal News

The City of Bend is inviting local artists to participate in a public art initiative aimed at enhancing the new Public Works Campus in Juniper Ridge. This project includes the design of a bike shelter, trash enclosure, and central utility plant enclosure, all featuring artistic elements that reflect the community’s identity. Artists will create 2D graphic designs that will be laser-cut onto rusted Corten metal panels, ensuring a durable and visually striking result. The call for artists is open to individuals aged 16 and older from Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, promoting inclusivity across diverse communities. In spring 2025, the public will have the opportunity to engage with and provide feedback on the proposed designs before installation occurs later that year.

Art in Public Places (AiPP) has been a pivotal organization in Bend since 1973, fostering a vibrant artistic landscape and promoting community engagement. This project not only enhances the campus aesthetically but also supports local artists and cultivates a sense of belonging among residents, strengthening community ties while celebrating creativity and diversity.
