Bellevue Magic Season dazzled, thanks to BDA members, community partners

The Bellevue Magic Season Ice Arena, presented by Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® card, wrapped up its 21st annual season on January 15, 2018, offering guests a memorable ice skating experience. This year saw the introduction of a larger rink and new rental skates, significantly enhancing the visitor experience. The Bellevue Downtown Association commended the dedication of its staff and the collaboration with sponsors like Bank of America and PACCAR Inc, vital for the event's success. Other festive highlights included the 13th annual Snowflake Lane, which captivated record numbers of visitors with its enchanting displays of live toy soldiers and falling snow. The Garden d’Lights continued to dazzle with over half a million lights, offering musical performances that enriched the winter ambiance.

The Meydenbauer Center Theatre's holiday shows attracted more than 8,000 attendees, further solidifying the Magic Season's community impact. Additionally, KidsQuest Children’s Museum hosted its popular Family Gingerbread House Workshops, accommodating 2,200 guests and exploring expansion due to its popularity. The Bellevue Downtown Association is looking forward to the next season, planning improvements to the warming hut and concessions area to enhance guest satisfaction.

This marks the department's continuous accreditation since 1998, a distinction held by fewer than 400 fire agencies worldwide. Fire Chief Jay Hagen highlighted the achievement as a reflection of the team's hard work and dedication to serving the community.
