Avery Koonce, a talented 19-year-old Air Force Academy cadet from Taylor, Texas, was found dead in her dormitory, leading to an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Despite the immediate efforts of Academy first responders, Koonce could not be revived after being discovered unresponsive on Wednesday night. A member of the Women's Track and Field team, she had a promising athletic career, having achieved notable results in multiple events at the UIL Spring Meet and represented her high school in state championships.
