Man arrested after deputies find drugs, guns and open bottles of tequila during Atlanta traffic stop
A routine traffic stop in Atlanta escalated into a significant arrest when deputies discovered drugs, firearms, and open bottles of tequila in Nathaniel Streater's vehicle. Initially stopped for failing to wear a seatbelt, Streater attempted to mislead law enforcement by providing false names and claiming to be from California. Upon smelling marijuana, the deputy conducted a search that yielded about 96 grams of suspected marijuana, a bag of MDMA pills, a scale, and other paraphernalia alongside a Glock pistol and a KelTec rifle. This incident not only led to Streater's arrest but also emphasizes the critical role of the Fulton County Sheriff's Office in maintaining road safety. Sheriff Patrick "Pat" Laba commended the Traffic Unit for their keen observation and swift actions, which are vital for public safety.
Streater now faces multiple charges, including three counts of drug possession and two counts of providing false information. The case reflects ongoing efforts to combat drug-related offenses and illegal weapon possession in the region. Law enforcement continues to work collaboratively to ensure the security of all citizens in Fulton County.
