Alpharetta man wanted for child molestation arrested at Baltimore airport
Daniel Coronado, a 54-year-old man from Alpharetta, Georgia, was arrested by U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Monday. His apprehension occurred after he arrived on a flight from Cancun, Mexico, where he was flagged during routine checks against law enforcement databases, including the National Crime Information Center. Coronado was wanted in Forsyth County, Georgia, on serious felony child molestation charges.
CBP officers confirmed the existence of an active felony arrest warrant and subsequently referred him for a more thorough inspection upon his arrival. After verifying his identity, officers arrested him and transported him to the Anne Arundel County Detention Facility in Maryland. Adam Rottman, CBP Area Port Director for Baltimore, emphasized the agency's role in supporting law enforcement efforts to apprehend individuals wanted for serious crimes. CBP processes over one million travelers daily and averages 44 arrests of wanted individuals each day. This incident underscores the agency's commitment to making communities safer and assisting victims in seeking justice.
