In line with the City Built for the Future pillar of his Moving Atlanta Forward agenda, Mayor Andre Dickens announced two new major investments in Atlanta’s infrastructure. These investments were introduced through legislation sponsored by members of the Atlanta City Council on behalf of the Administration. The first is an ordinance, sponsored by Councilmember Dusin Hillis, to amend the FY 25 budget with a $13,774,270 procurement for the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant Improvement project. These funds will replace four pumps, restore previous pumping capacity, upgrade the current equipment and improve overall energy efficiency and performance delivery. A resolution, sponsored by Councilmember Andrea L.

Boone, moves forward a $33. 2 million ATLDOT complete streets project in Southwest Atlanta. The Fairburn Road Complete Street project—spanning Fairburn Road from city of Atlanta limits to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive—will include street resurfacing, shared-use paths, bicycle lanes, curbs and sidewalks, signal and intersection upgrades, landscaping and drainage improvements. “Investments in our infrastructure are always worth every penny—whether above ground or below.

From ensuring our city is water resilient to having safe, connected streets that reflect a community’s pride, these are funds well-spent and will pay dividends for generations. Thank you to Councilmember Boone and Councilmember Hillis for sponsoring these projects and thank you to City Council in advance for helping move them forward. ” To learn more about ATLDOT’s projects, visit this link.
