Police looking for person of interest in deadly shooting in downtown Alpharetta

In a tragic incident, a late-night shooting in downtown Alpharetta has claimed the life of 46-year-old Justin Mourning. Police were alerted to the shooting around 11 p. m. on Wednesday night at the intersection of Milton Avenue and Academy Street. Upon arrival, they found Mourning on the road, having sustained gunshot wounds, and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators have established that the shooting stemmed from an argument and involved a suspect riding a black sports-style motorcycle. Multiple shell casings were located at the crime scene, suggesting a significant exchange of gunfire. Authorities have released images of a person of interest, identified by specific clothing details, and are appealing to the public for any information that could aid the investigation. The case has now escalated to a homicide investigation as police work diligently to track down the suspect.
